| About the ArtScan service ArtScan is a service for artists who want to keep a photographic record of their original work. We specialise in capturing already framed artwork and artwork mounted behind glass. This is a custom service - please contact us by telephone or mail to discuss options. Capture costs are £16.00 but this gives you a 20% discount off the first print order. About Giclee Printing The term "giclee" refers to a high quality printing method. Image are printed using archival quality inks onto various (normally acid free) substrates including canvas, fine art photo rag, watercolour and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides much better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. Advantages Giclee prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand. Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort and reasonable cost. The up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Quality The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
